PRIDCO team assesses Thermo King damage in the Arecibo region

As a result of the atmospheric event that occurred yesterday afternoon in the Arecibo region, this morning the executive director of the Industrial Development Company ("PRIDCO"), Javier Bayón Torres, together with his work team, visited the Thermo King facilities and met with the general manager of said company, Marco Miranda.

The PRIDCO team is conducting an assessment of all the property that is leased to Thermo King in Arecibo in order to identify the damage caused by the tornado and establish an action plan to ensure that the company can resume operations as soon as possible. Likewise, Bayón Torres contacted the mayor of Arecibo, Carlos “Tito” Ramírez Irizarry, to make himself available to support the recovery of the affected areas.

“What happened at the plant and at the rest of the surrounding residential properties was very unfortunate and unexpected. However, damage was fortunately limited to property, no injuries to residents or employees. We will work hand in hand with Thermo King management to ensure the reestablishment of the operation that employs around 950 people”, said Bayón.
