Roberto Lefranc Fortuño is a Puerto Rican public official with experience in government administration, economic development, and community affairs. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, with a minor in Business Communication, from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.
He served as an elected Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives for Puerto Rico from 2021 to 2024, advocating for statehood for Puerto Rico and policies related to healthcare, economic growth, and public safety on behalf of the island’s residents.
At the municipal level, he previously served as a Municipal Legislator in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, where he contributed to local policymaking and community initiatives. He also held leadership roles supporting early childhood education programs, including serving as President of the Board of Directors for Head Start & Early Head Start in Guaynabo City.
In early 2025, he was appointed Executive Director of Puerto Rico’s Office for Socioeconomic and Community Development (ODSEC), where he administered the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) for Puerto Rico and its sub-recipients, oversaw initiatives aimed at strengthening vulnerable communities and promoting comprehensive development across the island.
In August 2025, he was appointed by Governor Jenniffer González-Colón and confirmed by the Senate as Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO). In this role, he leads the island’s largest industrial real estate portfolio, which includes more than 1,400 rental units and 762 industrial lots across Puerto Rico.
Since assuming leadership, he has focused on providing the private sector with efficient and accessible opportunities to expand operations or establish a presence in Puerto Rico. His initiatives include launching an aggressive demolition program to remove obsolete facilities, reactivating FEMA-funded projects to restore buildings damaged by hurricanes and earthquakes in southern Puerto Rico and implementing a major capital expenditure program that includes the construction of three new industrial buildings.
Through these efforts, Lefranc is spearheading PRIDCO’s transformation and revitalization strategy, positioning its industrial assets to attract new investment and generate high-quality jobs throughout Puerto Rico.
